BWSA Course
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's Boating and Water Safety Awareness course was developed to promote boating and water safety education by involving students in the proper procedures for recreational boating and having students demonstrate proficiency in boating water safety.
INSTRUCTORS: Taught by Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission employees and volunteer instructors.
CONTENT: The BWSA course includes both classroom and in-water work. Students get the opportunity to experience and practice skills in a pool environment. The course contains six chapters followed by a 25-questions examination. A passing grade of 72% must be achieved. Course material is provided.
CERTIFICATES: Students who successfully complete this course may apply for a Boating Safety Education Certificate issued by the Commission by sending $10.00 to the Commission.
AGES: Age 12 to Adult
CLASS TIME: Date and Time to be determined. Class size is limited to 25 participants.
COST: $20.00 Pizza and drinks will be provided.
REGISTRATION: Register at the Johnstown YMCA
Please bring a bathing suit and towel-You will get wet!
