Under the direction of the Child Watch Coordinator, the Child Watch staff will conduct babysitting services in compliance with the YMCA of the USA guidelines. Must demonstrate a commitment to the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Skills & Qualifications
- 0-3 years experience working in childcare settings
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. All three clearances: FBI Fingerprinting, Child Abuse History, and Criminal Background
- Babysitting certification for those under the age of 18
- Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills appropriate for interacting with children, parents, and co-workers in all areas of the YMCA
- Caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for a child
- Customer service experience a plus
Job Responsibilities
- Keep appropriate records such as attendance and check in procedures for all participants
- Responsible for answering questions of participants and parents
- Maintain the highest level of safety in all activities
- Maintain professional appearance by wearing appropriate dress
- Maintain a clean and safe area and the care of equipment
- Focus on children in your care
- Change diapers of infants and toddlers
- Check for communicated information at Child Watch or other designated area before the start of shift
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
