BOYS 5TH & 6TH BASKETBALL LEAGUE

LEAGUE DATES | OCT 26 – DEC 21
GAME DAYS | SATURDAYS (9 am – 2 pm)
PRICE | $45 INDIVIDUALS; $400 TEAMS

League play will begin on Sunday, October 26, 2024. The deadline to register is October 5, 2024. The league will consist of 8 weeks of regular play plus 2 weeks for playoffs. Regular season games will be played on SATURDAYS. Playoff schedules will be determined near the end of the regular season.

Players registering without a team will be placed on a YMCA team with a volunteer coach and receive a team shirt for gameplay. YMCA teams will be limited to 10 players per team.

Incoming teams must complete a team registration packet that includes roster, waivers, and payment method at registration.

BIDDY BASKETBALL

DAYS | Fridays, September 13 – October 18 *No Class September 20
TIME | 5:15-6 p.m.
COST | $45 member, $60 non-member

Children learn fundamental skills of basketball using exciting drills and game situations in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Tennis shoes/sneakers are required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own basketball and water bottles.

BIDDY SPORTS SAMPLER

AGES | 3-6 years; 7-10 years

DAYS | Tuesdays, September 10 – October 15

TIME | 3-6 years 5:15 – 6:00 p.m.; 7-10 years 6:15 – 7:00 p.m.

COST | $45 Members; $60 Nonmembers

Greater Johnstown Community YMCA is launching a new youth sports program to introduce kids to various sports without a commitment to one sport. This class will be divided into two age groups with 3-6 year olds meeting from 5:15 – 6:00 p.m. and 7-10 year olds meeting from 6:15 – 7:00 p.m. Each week will focus on the basics of a different sport or game:

WEEK 1: Intro to Exercise & Sports

WEEK 2: Soccer

WEEK 3: Kickball

WEEK 4: Tee Ball

WEEK 5: Hockey

WEEK 6: Games & Fun

JR. NBA/WNBA

DAY | Saturdays – September 7 – October 19 (No Clinic September  28)

AGES | 3rd – 6th Grade

COST | $50 Members; $75 Nonmembers

The Greater Johnstown Community YMCA is excited to partner with the Jr.NBA to provide instructional clinics to 3rd-6th grade basketball players. This six-week program is great for beginners to intermediate players. Coaches will emphasize learning fundamentals and having fun while following the curriculum of the Jr. NBA.

WEEK 1: Evaluation Clinic (September 7) 9 – 11 a.m.

WEEK 2: Shoot the Lights Out Clinic (September 14) 12 -2 p.m.

WEEK 3: Ball Handlers Breakthrough (September 21) 12 -2 p.m.

WEEK 4: Mini 3 on 3 Tourney (October 5) 12 -2 p.m.

WEEK 5: Jr. NBA Skills Challenge (October 12) 12 -2 p.m.

WEEK 6: Recap Celebration (October 19) 12 -2 p.m.

All players register individually. Cost includes Jr. NBA or Jr. WNBA youth game jersey, you must register by the deadline to receive a jersey.

SPORTS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Greater Johnstown Community YMCA is happy to provide a sports internship to local 8th-12th grade students. This volunteer position will assist our sports staff at sporting events and programming. Sports interns can attend optional monthly meetings, beginning in September to learn the basics of sports management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
